High Court Hears Appeal Of Monsanto Alfalfa Ban

Law360, New York (April 27, 2010, 8:09 PM ET) -- U.S. Supreme Court justices on Tuesday questioned whether lower courts were right to ban the planting of Monsanto Inc.'s Roundup Ready alfalfa, in a case that could govern the use of genetically engineered crops and affect food from the field to the table to overseas markets.

In oral arguments in the case on Tuesday, justices interrupted lawyers for both sides with queries about proper procedures for regulating crops under environmental law.
