High Court Declines Labels' Appeal In Music Price MDL

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 4:57 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear an appeal by Sony BMG Entertainment Inc. and other major record labels as they seek to defeat an antitrust multidistrict litigation alleging the companies colluded to fix prices for music downloads.

The high court denied the record companies' petition for a writ of certoriati, filed in August, despite the labels' arguments that the plaintiffs' allegations are not specific enough to validate a claim under the Sherman Act.
