High Court To Dismiss Coca-Cola Race Bias Case

Law360, New York (April 12, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A significant race discrimination case against Coca-Cola Bottling Co. is set for dismissal from the Supreme Court just a week before the Justices were scheduled to hear arguments.

The government had filed suit against BCI Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Los Angeles for allegedly terminating a black employee because of his race.

Although Coca-Cola initially appealed the case to the High Court, it requested on Thursday for the Court to dismiss its appeal, according to Coca-Cola’s attorney, Tom Goldstein.
