Law360, New York (May 10, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- SGL Carbon suffered a setback on Thursday, with the European Union’s highest court tossing the German carbon and graphite maker’s appeal of a lower court’s decision to slash a €27.75 million fine levied for price-fixing charges to €18.45 million, a penalty the company argued should have been reduced even further.
The European Court of Justice said that it had rejected all of SGL’s claims as “unfounded or inadmissible” and maintained the €18.45 million fine, Reuters reported.
