Exxon Well Sabotage Case Returns To Texas Trial Court

Law360, New York (March 02, 2012, 8:59 PM ET) -- A Texas appeals court ruled Thursday that Exxon Mobil Corp. had misled royalty owners about production at a group of wells in southern Texas, sending back to trial court a long-running dispute alleging the oil giant sabotaged oil wells it formerly operated. 

The appeals court reversed and remanded a trial court's instructed verdict against the royalty owners’ fraud and negligent misrepresentation claims, but cleared Exxon on claims of negligence, negligence per se, tortuous interference and breach of regulatory duty.
