Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 9:14 PM ET) -- The Federal Circuit on Friday upheld a nearly $12 million jury verdict for currency denominator maker Cummins-Allison Corp. and reversed the district court’s tossing of a claim of one of the patents-in-suit, finding substantial evidence supported the jury’s verdict.
At issue is U.S. Patent Number 6,381,354, which relates to currency denomination and counterfeit detection. The ‘354 Patent is a continuation of application No. 08/399,854 filed on March 7, 1995, which was issued as U.S. Patent No. 5,875,259.
