News Corp. OK'd Silence On Deal With Murdoch Daughter's Co.

Law360, Wilmington (May 30, 2012, 5:06 PM ET) -- News Corp. does not have to turn over records related to the media empire's $670 million acquisition of a television production company owned by Rupert Murdoch's daughter, the Delaware Supreme Court ruled Tuesday.

The decision upholds a November 2011 ruling by the Delaware Court of Chancery, which dismissed the records suit, a Section 220 action, on grounds that it was no longer warranted since plaintiffs in the case filed a separate shareholder derivative complaint over the acquisition.
