Law360, New York (August 09, 2012, 10:32 PM ET) -- A Texas appeals court on Thursday denied a bid to revive a suit alleging a chemical company and law firm Provost Umphrey LLP damaged a litigant’s reputation when they sought and obtained sanctions in a patent infringement suit.
The appeals court held that Richard Alan Haase had failed to prove he had suffered mental anguish, damage to his reputation and other financial losses when Provost Umphrey and Pearl River Polymers Inc. obtained a $121,000 judgment for sanctions against him in a patent suit.
