'Housewives' Actress Wasn't Wrongly Fired, Calif. Court Says

Law360, Los Angeles (August 16, 2012, 6:37 PM ET) -- A California appeals court ruled Thursday that actress Nicollette Sheridan wasn't wrongfully terminated from TV show “Desperate Housewives,” but said Sheridan could allege she suffered retaliation after the show's creator struck her during filming.

The state appellate court sided with Touchstone Television Productions LLC, which argued Sheridan wasn't entitled to a new trial over her wrongful termination claim because the show's producers had decided not to exercise an option to renew her contract beyond the program's fifth season.
