U.K. Tribunal OKs Claim Against Cartel Whisteblower

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The United Kingdom’s Competition Appeal Tribunal has decided to allow businesses that were hurt by a carbon and graphite cartel to pursue a claim for damages against the cartel’s whistleblower, Morgan Crucible Co. Plc.

On Friday, the tribunal issued a decision allowing the claimants, direct purchasers of electrical and mechanical carbon and graphite products led by Emerson Electric Co., to seek damages from Morgan Crucible.
