Va. Defends EPA Chesapeake Bay Cleanup Plan

Law360, New York (April 10, 2014, 7:22 PM ET) -- The state of Virginia on Wednesday asked the Third Circuit to side with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in its fight against an agriculture industry challenge to pollution standards imposed in Chesapeake Bay.

Led by the American Farm Bureau Federation, the agriculture groups are challenging U.S. District Judge Sylvia H. Rambo’s September ruling in favor of the EPA on its 2010 program that set daily total maximum daily load, or TMDL, limits on the amount of nitrogen, phosphorous and sediment allowed into the bay.
