Massey Hits W.Va. Court Admin With FOIA Suit

Law360, New York (July 23, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Massey Energy Co. has sued the administrator of West Virginia's highest court for not complying with its Freedom of Information Act request for the e-mails of an allegedly prejudiced justice who voted not to hear an appeal of a $260 million verdict against the company.

Massey filed a complaint against Steven D. Canterbury, the administrative director of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, Friday in the Kanawha County Circuit Court.
