Union Subject To Antitrust Laws: 1st Circ.

Law360, New York (August 05, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Contending that organized labor doesn't have “carte blanche” to stifle competition, a U.S. appeals court has overturned a district judge's decision to dismiss federal antitrust claims against a Boston ironworkers' union.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit reversed on Friday the Massachusetts U.S. District Court's judgment dismissing federal antitrust claims against the union, while upholding its dismissal of state antitrust claims.
