Wis. AG Seeks $212M Forfeiture From Pfizer Unit

Law360, New York (May 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wisconsin Attorney General J. B. Van Hollen asked a state court on Tuesday to order Pfizer Inc. subsidiary Pharmacia Inc. to forfeit $212 million it allegedly overcharged the state's Medicaid program by reporting inflated average wholesale drug prices.

Van Hollen asked the Dane County Circuit Court to order the forfeiture, and to enjoin Pharmacia from further fraud, following a jury's decision in February that Pharmacia violated the Wisconsin Medicaid Fraud law more than 1.44 million times.
