Cartoon Camel Ad Violated Tobacco Deal: Pa. Court

Law360, New York (May 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pennsylvania has won an order forcing R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. to make amends for a nine-page ad for Camel cigarettes containing cartoon imagery that ran in a 2007 issue of Rolling Stone magazine, with a Philadelphia judge ruling that the ads violated the tobacco giant's 1998 master settlement agreement with Pennsylvania and 45 other states.
