Judge Delays Madoff Sentence For Victim Statements

Law360, New York (May 14, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Bernard L. Madoff will have to wait until the end of June to find out how long he will be spending behind bars for running a $65 billion Ponzi scheme, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

Judge Denny Chin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York put the sentencing off until June 29 so that the fraudster’s victims would have a chance to file statements with the court. The original sentencing date was June 16.
