Analysis Before Action Urged On Chinese Drywall

Law360, New York (May 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Public health officials urged a U.S. Senate panel Thursday to continue its multipronged probe into the health and safety effects of Chinese-made drywall, warning that efforts to mitigate those effects on homeowners shouldn't lead legislators to craft policy ahead of scientific discovery.

The Senate subcommittee on consumer protection, product safety and insurance held hearings to consider how best to handle the growing number of homeowners seeking legal and governmental relief for allegedly toxic Chinese drywall installed in recently built homes.
