Insurer Seeks Right To Resume Katrina Negotiations

Law360, New York (May 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An insurance company has asked a federal judge to undo a state court preliminary injunction and allow it to resume settlement negotiations over damages caused by levee breaches during Hurricane Katrina.

In its motion for a temporary restraining order, Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Co. said it desired a global resolution of all claims and issues existing between it and its Louisiana policyholders as a result of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
