Motorola, Others Infringed Tessera Chip Patents: ITC

Law360, New York (May 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Overturning an administrative law judge's decision, the U.S. International Trade Commission has found that patents owned by Tessera Technologies Inc. related to miniaturizing semiconductor chip assemblies and enabling smaller, faster electronic devices were infringed by six rival technology companies.

The ITC on Wednesday issued a limited exclusion order banning the unlicensed import of semiconductor chips with minimized chip package size that infringe claims of the two patents, or of products incorporating those chips, that are manufactured abroad or imported by or for ATI Technologies, Freescale Semiconductor...
