Mexico To Probe Soft Drink Market Once Again

Law360, New York (May 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Nearly four years after slapping the Coca-Cola Co. with $51 million in antitrust fines, Mexico's competition watchdog has turned its attention back to the soda industry with a new probe into possible unfair business practices in the soft drink market.

Mexico's Federal Competition Commission, or CFC, revealed the investigation Wednesday in the government's official register. The watchdog will examine whether several monopolistic practices have affected the carbonated beverage market.
