FTC Requests More Info On $761M Arch Coal Deal

Law360, New York (May 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has asked for more information regarding Arch Coal Inc.'s proposed $761 million acquisition of Rio Tinto Group's Jacobs Ranch coal mine in Wyoming, seeking to make sure the deal is not anti-competitive.

On Wednesday, Arch Coal revealed the agency's request for more information but remained upbeat about the consolidation's ultimate prospects.
