Law360, New York (June 01, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- After receiving the official green light from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board on Monday launched an online portal that lets investors access key information about municipal bonds for free.
The board's Electronic Municipal Market Access system went live Monday after the SEC signed off on the proposed rule change in a final order Thursday, concluding that the electronic system would allow the $2.6 trillion municipal securities industry to produce more accurate trade reporting and transparency.
