Marathon Oil Sues Pacific Energy Over Drilling Costs

Law360, New York (June 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Marathon Oil Co. has launched an adversary proceeding against bankrupt Pacific Energy Resources Ltd. and its affiliates to determine their obligations for costs associated with abandoning certain gas drilling operations in Alaska.

Filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Marathon’s declaratory judgment suit seeks to hold Pacific Energy liable for activities related to decommissioning the Spurr facilities in Alaska’s Cook Inlet.
