Teamsters Threaten Strike If Star Trib Nixes Pension

Law360, New York (June 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Minnesota Teamsters union has threatened to go on strike if bankrupt Star Tribune Holdings Corp. is allowed to reject its collective bargaining agreement and withdraw from a pension plan over which the two parties have become deadlocked.

In a memorandum filed Monday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 638, argued that it had already made significant concessions to Star Tribune.
