FDA Agrees To Revisit Safety Ruling On BPA

Law360, New York (June 3, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- At the urging of two Democratic lawmakers, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reportedly agreed to take a second look at its 2008 decision that bisphenol A in children's food and drink containers doesn't pose a substantial safety threat.

Recently appointed FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg said she would put the agency's acting chief scientist in charge of the review, which should be wrapped up by the end of the summer or early fall, Dow Jones reported Wednesday.
