Climate Risks Not Being Disclosed To Investors: Report

Law360, New York (June 4, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Though greenhouse gas-emitting companies have increasingly been under pressure from investors to disclose their climate risks, most have taken very few steps to actually do that, according to a pair of reports released Wednesday by environmental and investment groups.

The first report, which assessed climate risk disclosure among 100 companies in the electric utilities, coal, oil and gas, transportation and insurance sectors, looked at 10-K and 20-F reports filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2008.
