Microsoft Fights To Overturn $200M Patent Verdict

Law360, New York (June 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. has asked a federal court to overturn a $200 million verdict holding the software giant liable for infringing a patent for document-formatting software held by Canadian company i4i Inc.

In a series of post-trial motions filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Microsoft claims it should get a new trial or that judgment should be granted in its favor on a number of issues, including whether the patent-in-suit is valid and infringed.
