Broadcom, Qualcomm Execs Ordered To Reconcile

Law360, New York (September 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The chairmen of Broadcom Corp. and Qualcomm Inc. have been asked to appear together before a magistrate judge in San Diego federal court to attempt to settle 10 pending patent lawsuits between the two companies.

The two executives—Broadcom Chair Henry Samueli and Qualcomm Chair Irwin Jacobs—were ordered to meet on Oct. 4 by U.S. Magistrate Anthony Battaglia, Bloomberg News reported.

The companies have been tangled in litigation over patents and antitrust issues for several years now, filing suits in venues across the country.
