Utah Court Says Ford Not Liable In Fatal Rollover

Law360, New York (June 11, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- A Utah appeals court has upheld a jury's determination that Ford Motor Co. can't be held liable in a wrongful death suit brought following a rollover in which a woman was injured and her fiance killed when their Explorer drifted off the road.

In an order Thursday, a three-judge panel of the Utah Court of Appeals affirmed the verdict in Ford's favor in the case, which centers on an accident in November 1998 in which Anthony Clayton was killed and Kellie Montoya was injured.
