Waffle Buyers Seek Cert. In Spat Over Fat Content

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of consumers alleging that “all-natural” Van’s Waffles have double, sometimes triple, the amount of fat or calories listed on the packaging has moved for class certification.

The plaintiffs filed a motion for class certification Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, arguing that the factors of the case “weigh heavily in favor of class certification.”

According to the plaintiffs, litigating the cases by individual claims would be inefficient and impractical.
