Reynolds Didn't Infringe Invalid Tobacco Patent: Jury

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After four weeks of trial, a jury on Tuesday sided with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. in a patent dispute with Star Scientific Inc. over a toxin-reducing method of treating tobacco, finding Star's patents invalid and uninfringed.

The jury decided in favor of Reynolds after a day of deliberations, court records in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland show.
