House Seeks Bernanke's View On BofA-Merrill Deal

Law360, New York (June 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- On the heels of testimony from Bank of America Corp. CEO Kenneth Lewis about the bank's buyout of Merrill Lynch & Co., a U.S. House of Representatives committee has asked Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke to offer his view on the deal and the $20 billion payment the federal government provided to back the combination.
