Gen Re, Marsh, ACE Escape AIG Derivative Case

Law360, New York (June 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Delaware Chancery Court judge has thrown out claims from American International Group Inc. shareholders alleging that Berkshire Hathaway unit General Re helped the insurer inflate its stock price and that ACE Ltd. and Marsh & McLennan Cos. were part of a bid-rigging conspiracy with AIG.

The plaintiffs claimed that former AIG CEO Maurice Greenberg led nearly a dozen conspiracies that made the company complicit in bid-rigging schemes and overstated the company's financial position by billions of dollars.
