F21 Fights To Get Anthropologie Copyright Suit Nixed

Law360, New York (June 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Low-cost fashion chain Forever 21 Inc. has asked a court to dismiss several claims from a copyright suit brought by Anthropologie Inc. accusing it of selling products that mimic Anthropologie designs and violating the Lanham Act.

Forever 21 filed a motion to dismiss and a supporting memorandum of law on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that Anthropologie has failed to adequately plead parts of its copyright claims and unfair competition and deceptive trade practices allegations.
