Metadata Request Nixed In Equity Firms Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (June 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Private equity firms, including a unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Bain Capital Partners LLC, facing antitrust claims revolving around joint bidding procedures for leveraged buyouts will not have to produce metadata now that a federal judge has ruled that providing the information would increase discovery costs and time without adding a significant amount of admissible evidence.
