42 States Join Forces Against GM Restructuring Plan

Law360, New York (June 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wisconsin has joined 41 other states in objecting to efforts by bankrupt General Motors Corp. to force dealerships to sign new agreements or risk being shut down as part of the car giant's restructuring plan.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said Friday that there were now 42 states that planned to oppose moves by GM to force changes to agreements and run afoul of state laws protecting dealerships.
