EEOC Sues Bear Stearns For Discrimination

Law360, New York (September 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has hit investment bank Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. with a discrimination lawsuit, alleging the company fired an administrative assistant after she revealed she was part Hispanic.

The lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, asks for a permanent injunction to keep the firm and its employees from discriminating against others.
