Symantec Nags Microsoft To Open Up Vista To Vendors

Law360, New York (September 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Internet security maker Symantec Corp. has attacked Microsoft, claiming the software giant is wielding its monopoly power to cherry pick which security products can function on its upcoming Windows Vista operating system.

Symantec claimed Wednesday that Microsoft, which launched its own security products in May, is intentionally suppressing key information so that rival security products are unable to operate on Vista, according to Rowan Trollope, Symantec’s vice president for consumer engineering.
