Fed. Circuit Upholds Attorney's Exclusion From USPTO

Law360, New York (September 28, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal appeals court has rejected an appeal from an attorney who was excluded from practicing before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office after being disbarred for helping his son—who was under investigation in connection with a murder—flee the United States in 1997.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld an October 2005 ruling by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, which affirmed the USPTO’s earlier decision to exclude Sol Sheinbein from practicing before the Patent and Trademark Office....
