DuPont, Rohm & Haas Get OK For $1.3M Ky. Deals

Law360, New York (July 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has given preliminary approval for $1.3 million in settlements between DuPont Co. and Rohm and Haas Co. and a class of more than 6,000 Louisville, Ky., households that claimed that emissions from a shuttered chemical plant in the city caused unpleasant odors, nausea, headaches and respiratory problems, and reduced property values.

Final approval of the deals by Judge John J. Heyburn II of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky are still up in the air pending the two companies'...
