Congressmen: Delay AT&T/BellSouth Merger Approval

Law360, New York (September 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two lawmakers have jumped into the debate surrounding the proposed merger of telecommunications companies BellSouth and AT&T, sending a letter to the Department of Justice urging the agency to delay its approval of the deal.

U.S. Representatives F. James Sensenbrenner and John Conyers Jr. sent a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales asking him to “more carefully examine the competitive impact of this consolidation.”
