States Beef Up Guidance On Vapor Intrusion

Law360, New York (August 13, 2009, 7:55 PM EDT) -- As state regulators turn their attention to the risks of vapor intrusion, the debate continues over how to evaluate potential exposure pathways and measure acceptable levels of toxic vapors in indoor air.

From 2004 to 2008 the number of states with vapor intrusion guidance or regulation increased from seven to 26, according to information the state-led Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council presented at the National Forum on Vapor Intrusion in January. Now it has risen to at least 29, attorneys said.
