Court Bats Down AmEx Unit Employee's Bias Suit

Law360, New York (September 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has tossed a discrimination suit plaguing American Express Financial Advisers Inc., rejecting the accusations of a former female employee who contended the company fired her on the basis of gender and age.

On Thursday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit affirmed a Minnesota district court’s earlier ruling against Bonnie Wittenburg, a former equity research analyst for AEFA’s equity investment department.
