Patent-Holding Co. Asks For Sanctions Against Sprint

Law360, New York (July 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent-holding company founded by a Smithsonian Institution-honored inventor has called for sanctions against Sprint Spectrum LP, saying the wireless company's inequitable conduct defense in a patent trial over camera phones “smeared” the innovator.

Sprint allegedly pursued the inequitable conduct claims as a bad-faith, “accuse-loudly-then-retreat-quietly” tactic, and deserves to be sanctioned, Intellect Wireless Inc. said Monday in a motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
