Sanyo Loses Bid To Toss Papst Camera Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has allowed German patent-licensing company Papst Licensing GmbH & Co. KG to go forward with a lawsuit against Sanyo North America Corp. over two patents covering a high-speed interface for digital cameras, and denied Sanyo's bid for sanctions against Papst.

Judge Rosemary M. Collyer of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled Monday that Papst's complaint stated a claim of patent infringement even though it didn't provide a complete list of Sanyo products that allegedly infringe Papst's patents.
