Zicam Lawsuits Pile Up In FDA Warning's Wake

Law360, New York (July 08, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- A slew of new lawsuits, including at least six class actions, have been filed against Matrixx Initiatives Inc. since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned consumers last month that the company's Zicam Cold Remedy zinc nasal gel could cost them their sense of smell, Matrixx has revealed.

In an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on July 2, Matrixx Acting President William Hemelt also said that the company expected the suits to continue.
