AT&T, Others Slammed With Cell Network Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Celltrace LLC has sued a handful of cell phone carriers and their subsidiaries — including AT&T Inc., Sprint Nextel Corp. and T-Mobile USA Inc. — for allegedly infringing two patents related to cell phone networks.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Celltrace filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming that the 22 defendants' ownership, operation, use and provision of cell phone networks for communicating with cell phones via messaging infringe U.S. Patent Numbers 6,011,976 and 7,551,933, which pertain to telecommunications systems....
