Obama Taps Management-Side Lawyer For NLRB

Law360, New York (July 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After nominating two union-side lawyers for the National Labor Relations Board, President Obama has tapped Brian Hayes, a 25-year veteran of management-side labor law, to fill the last available slot at the NLRB.

On Thursday, Obama announced the nomination of Hayes, who now serves as the Republican Labor Policy Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

The move garnered the praise of the Washington, D.C.-based HR Policy Association, which assists large employers with labor practices.
