For Some Copyright Filers, Online May Be Only Option

Law360, New York (July 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As the U.S. Copyright Office gears up to implement a host of fee changes intended to encourage users to file copyright submissions electronically, the office has also proposed a rule that would require all deposit account users to submit applications online.

The proposed rule, lodged Tuesday in the Federal Register, would eliminate the problem of notifying a user when his deposit account has insufficient funds to pay for a copyright application.
