Law360, New York (July 14, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- In a case that could have significant ramifications for business method patents, Transamerica Life Insurance Co. has appealed a final judgment upholding a $13.1 million jury verdict against the insurer and finding it had infringed a benefits rider patent held by Lincoln National Life Insurance Co.
